To increase the camber thrust at the time of a turning travel when this pneumatic radial tire is used as a tire for a front wheel and to improve turning performance by arranging the cords of an inner layer side belt layer at a specific angle against the tire equatorial plane.
A belt 3 is constituted of two belt layers 3a, 3b located adjacently on the inside and outside in the tire radial direction, and belt layer cords made of organic fiber cords, for example, of the belt layer 3 on the inner layer side are extended at the angle of 45-90° against the tire equatorial plane C. When the belt layer 3a on the inner layer side is a continuous layer in the belt width direction, the belt layer 3a is preferably arranged symmetrically in the range of 25-55% of the tread width W on both side sections of the tire equatorial plane C. The elastic modulus of the belt layer cords is set to the range of 300-4000 kgf/mm, and the arrangement density is preferably set to 12-35 cords for the width of 25 mm.
