Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a road noise of about 250-400 Hz band without increasing production processes while lightening a tire.
SOLUTION: In a pneumatic radial tire in which a carcass layer 2 is laid between a pair of bead parts 1, 1, and in which at least two layers of belt layers 4 are arranged in the outer circumferential side of the carcass layer 2 in a tread part 3, recesses U1, U2 are formed respectively in a buttress part and a side lower part of an antinode for a second vibration mode of area. By reducing mass of these parts, a tire natural frequency in a high frequency region is moved to high side. By increasing the tire natural frequency in the high frequency region to prevent the tire natural frequency from resonating with a vehicle natural frequency, the vibration is hardly propagated to a cabin inside, and a road noise of about 250-400 Hz band is reduced thereby.
