To improve durability and operational stability by covering an organic fiber cord used as a cord for constituting a side reinforcing layer for reinforcing a region from a bead part to a side wall part with a coating rubber having a particular modulus or higher.

A pneumatic tire is composed by covering an organic fiber cord with a coating rubber with 25% molulus set to 40kgf/mm2 or higher. A side reinforcing layer 9 is arranged between a bead filler 8 and a carcass main body 5a. Especially, a region (h) for installing the side reinforcing layer 9 is set to 20 to 70% of the height of a side part, preferably within the range of 30 to 50%. Specifically, the diameter direction inner side end of the side reinforcing layer 9 is arranged in a bead part 1, more particularly, in the vicinity of a bead core 4 and widened in the region (h) to the outside of the diameter direction with this position as a starting point. Further, in the side reinforcing layer 9, the organic fiber cord is arranged so as to have an inclined angle of, preferably 30 to 45°. Thus, a tire weight is reduced and operational stability is improved.
