To provide a pneumatic spring capable of improving the riding comfort by providing nonlinear spring characteristics.
A cylindrical diaphragm 4 forming a pneumatic chamber S inside is sandwiched between an upper surface plate 2 and a lower surface plate 3. A first stopper rubber 5 with a low spring constant and a second stopper rubber 6 with a high spring constant to limit the axial deflection of the first stopper rubber 5 are installed in the diaphragm 4. Even in an airless (puncture) state, or even for either a bogie with a bolster or a bogie without a bolster, the pneumatic spring exerts the nonlinear spring characteristics in which the interim spring constant increases in a short time, reduces the influence on the riding comfort, and limits the amount in settlement of a vehicle so as to enable the safe driving.
