To provide a pneumatic tire, and a tire/wheel assembly, which improve tire durability performance.

The pneumatic tire 1 is installed on a wheel 10 in which the outer diameter of one rim flange part (high flange part) is larger than the outer diameter of the other rim flange part (low flange part) 12. The pneumatic tire 1 is composed of: a pair of bead cores 2 and 2; a carcass layer 4 stretched between the bead cores 2 and 2; a belt layer 5 disposed on the tire diametric outer circumference of the carcass layer 4; and belt reinforcing layers 81 and 82 respectively disposed on both end parts of the belt layer 5. The belt reinforcing layer 82 positioned toward the high flange part 11 in a tire installed state has higher rigidity than the belt reinforcing layer 81 positioned toward the low flange part 12.
