To provide a pneumatic tire that can improve the turning performance of a vehicle and can improve the straight-line stability thereof at high-speed travel.

Bead cores 18A on the inner and outer sides across a vehicle of a left tire 10A each have left-hand laid steel wires on the periphery. When the vehicle is turned right, a bead portion 12A deforms or turns counterclockwise on the bead core 18A as the center. The direction of laying of the steel wires and the direction of turning of the bead portion 12A are opposite to each other and thus bring the steel wires into a loosened condition. The outer steel wires are tightened as their direction of laying is the same as the direction of turning of a bead portion 12B. An inner sidewall portion 24 deforms more than an outer one, and the tire surface receives, from the outside to inside, the difference between the reaction forces of shearing forces caused by the deformation. Side force SF is thus substantially increased by the difference, which results in an improved vehicle stability during turning.
