Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire designed such that an area of a tire surface, formed due to an overlapping part of carcass ply, is made less conspicuous.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire comprises: a tread part; a pair of side parts; a pair of bead cores; and a carcass ply passed through a side part from the tread part and wound around a bead core from inside to outside in a tire width direction. A carcass ply has an overlapping part in which sheet materials are overlapping in a thickness direction, each sheet material having a plurality of cords pulled and aligned with one another and also having coating rubber covering the cords. The side part has, at a position on a tire periphery, a projection part projecting outside the pneumatic tire from a base part of the side part with an internal pressure being 0kPa, the position coinciding with the position on the tire periphery at which the overlapping part is located. In a projection part, the projection height from the base part when normal internal pressure is applied is lower than projection height when internal pressure is 0kPa.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
