To improve riding comfortableness without giving an adverse effect to the steering stability of pneumatic tires for a passenger car by specifying a rubber layer reinforced by the steel cords of a carcass ply and a tread inner layer rubber respectively.
A carcass ply 1 is constituted of a first ply 1a and a second ply 1b, and the first play 1a is folded from the inside of a tire to the outside around the bead core 5 of a bead section 4 from a tread section 2 through a side wall section 3. A crescent-shaped side reinforcing rubber layer 6 is provided on the inner face of the side wall section 3. The tread section 2 is constituted of a tread outer layer 2a and a tread inner layer 2b. In the reinforcing rubber layer 6 of the carcass ply 1, the filament occupied factor F/A which is the ratio of the filament area F occupied in the cord area A at 15 mm in the axial direction of an optionally selected cord in an image obtained as a plane by X-ray transmission is set to the range of 0.45-0.95, and the JISA hardness of the tread inner layer rubber 2b is set to 30-50 at 24°C.
