Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the steering stability and high speediness of a car on a road under ice and snow by comprising the central area of a block in a tread section with the soft rubber-like material below specific hardness and forming the outside edge area of the block with harder rubber-like material than the rubber-like material of the central area. CONSTITUTION:A tread section is divided into a number of blocks 1 by main grooves 4 cut in a tread. In this case, the central area 2 and outside edge area 3 of the block 1 are comprised with rubber-like material whose JIS hardness at 0 deg.C is different from each other. In other words, the rubber-like material of the central area 2 of the block has the JIS hardness of less than 68 at 0 deg.C or it is recommended that the hardness be set within 45 to 68. In addition, the rubber-like material of the outside edge area 3 of the block and the groove 4 is harder than that of the central area 2 of the block 1 in the JIS hardness at 0 deg.C. As a result, the pure wear resistance and puncuture resistance at the block 1 can be made compatible with each other and the running performance, that is,the steering stability and high speediness of a car on a road surface under ice and snow can be improved.
