To provide a pneumatic tire having a belt layer comprising a coating rubber composition having good adhesiveness to metallic reinforcing materials and high bond durability to cause little lowering of the adhesiveness even after the application of environmental stress, and keeping the excellent relationship between the coating rubber and the insertion rubber to prevent the generation of crack (separation), etc., in the belt layer.
The pneumatic tire uses a rubber composition compounded with 0.1-5.0 pts.mass of an ester of a meta-substituted diol aromatic compound and an organic acid and 0.1-3.5 pts.mass of a maleimide resin component and/or a melamine resin component. The composition has a small ratio of the 100% extension elastic modulus of the insertion rubber to be inserted between the reinforcing layers at an end of the belt layer to the 100% extension elastic modulus of the coating rubber.
