Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a pneumatic tire with reduced rolling resistance excellent in affinity and tear strength, made from a specific curing elastomer composition, and having tire constituent (s) such as subtread.
CONSTITUTION: The tire made from a curing elastomer composition with reduced hysteresis comprising (A) 10-100 pts.wt. of such an elastomer that each polymer molecule contains plural polymer molecules carrying at least one functional group at the initiation site(s) and hysteresis is ≥10% lower than that for similar elastomers with no functional group on each polymer molecule, (B) 0-90 pts.wt. of another elastomer higher in hysteresis than the elastomer A and consisting of natural or synthetic rubber, and (C) 20-100 pts.wt., based on a total of 100 pts.wt. of the elastomers A and B, of carbon black, and having at least one kind of tire constituent selected from subtread, black sidewall, body ply skim and bead filter.
