To provide a pneumatic tire for equalizing grounding pressure over the whole tread surface area, for preventing partial abrasion of a tire installed in an asymmetrical flange wheel.
This pneumatic tire 1 is installed by forming a rim protective bar 3 projecting outside in the tire width direction on an outer wall of a side wall part 2, and allowing an inner peripheral surface of the rim protective bar 3 to abut on a rim flange outer peripheral surface on the high side 4a in the flange height of the asymmetrical flange wheel 4. A thin groove group 5 composed of a plurality of slit-like notches 5a is intermittently formed in the tire peripheral direction in an abutting area S with the rim flange outer peripheral surface in the inner peripheral surface of the rim protective bar 3.
