A belt 12 of the pneumatic tire includes an inner layer 26 and an outer layer 28. The inner layer 26 and the outer layer 28 include large numbers of codes 30 and topping rubbers 32 which are juxtaposed, respectively. The inner layer 26 includes a large number of first codes 30a and a large number of second codes 30b. With the inner layer 26, the first codes 30a and the second codes 30b are alternately located. The outer layer 28 also includes the large number of first codes 30a and the large number of second codes 30b. With the outer layer 28, the first codes 30a and the second codes 30b are alternately located. The first codes 30a are composed of four steel filaments. The first codes 30a have a "2+2 structure". The second codes 30b have a "1×1 structure".
