The pneumatic tire includes a plurality of peripheral grooves extending in a tire peripheral direction. In a shoulder region, a plurality of pitch species are distributed in a first pitch array in the tire peripheral direction. In a center region, such a tread pattern is formed that a plurality of pitch species are distributed in a second pitch array in the tire peripheral direction. The plurality of pitch species which are arranged in the shoulder region to form the first pitch array show that their groove area ratios are greater as their pitch lengths are shorter. The plurality of pitch species which are arranged in the center region to form the second pitch array show that their groove area ratios are smaller as their pitch lengths are shorter.
