In the pneumatic tire, a block row L5 composed of a plurality of blocks 5a-5d continued along the equator of the tire is formed by at least two longitudinal grooves 2 and 3 extending along the equator C of the tire on a tread 1 of the tire and a plurality of peripheral grooves 4a-4d for connecting the longitudinal grooves 2 and 3. The blocks 5a-5d have a thickness reducing part 6 including two or more parts at which the thickness of the block is gradually reduced in an overlapping area R in which the blocks are overlapped on projection when the block row L5 is projected in the circumferential direction.
