Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the abrasion resistance and aging resistance of a pneumatic tire without detriment to its good on-ice performance.
CONSTITUTION: The cap tread section of a pneumatic tire is formed from a rubber compsn. which contains 100 pts.wt. diene rubber having a glass transition point (Tg) of -45°C or lower and up to 65 pts.wt. carbon black having a nitrogen-adsorption specific surface area (N2SA) of 140m2/g or higher, a DBP absorption of 120ml/100g or higher, a ΔDBP of 30ml/100g or higher, and a half-value width (ΔDst) of agglomerate distribution of 50mμm or lower when measured by centrifugal sedimentation.
