Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 improved in impact resistance while reducing the rolling resistance of the tire without damaging the steering stability and wear resistance.SOLUTION: The profile OL of a tire 2 comprises a ground plane 44 and a pair of sides 46. In the profile OL, the zone from the boundary (point PB) of the ground plane 44 and the side 46 to the spot (point PW) indicating a maximum breadth on the side 46 is formed by three circular arcs comprising a first arc, a second arc extending from the first arc nearly outward in a radial direction, and a third arc extending from the second arc nearly outward in the radial direction. The ratio R2/R1 of the curvature radius R2 of the second arc to the curvature radius R1 of the first arc is 1.45 or more but 3.26 or less, and the ratio R3/R1 of the curvature radius R3 of the third arc to the curvature radius R1 is 0.45 or more but 0.58 or less. The tire 2 comprises a pair of reinforcing layers 20 positioning outside a belt 16 in an axial direction.
