Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the traveling performance on ice and snow of a tire for heavy duty vehicle by setting a ratio between the tread width and tire maximum width and circumferential tensile rigidity of a belt in a predetermined range, then increasing the tread contact area when a predetermined inner pressure is applied inside the tire. CONSTITUTION:A ratio T/W between the tread width and tire maximum width is set in a range of 0.80 to 1.15. A circumferential tensile rigidity of a belt is set in a range of 700 to 2500kg/cm. Thus, inner pressure being 60 to 90% of normal inner pressure is applied into a carcass. With this arrangement, the contact area of the tread 2 is increased so as to improve the traveling performance on ice and snow.
