CONSTITUTION: In a pneumatic tire having a plurality of lugs 3 plotted at equal intervals substantially in a tire circumferential direction by a plurality of side grooves 2 in the shoulder region of a tread, each lug 3 is provided with a square shoulder 4 and a taper cut shoulder 5 projected to the side by this, this lug 3 is provided so that the taper cut shoulder 5 and the square shoulder 4 are alternately arranged on the circumference and thus, advantages of two shoulders are provided. A notch 6 is formed between the square shoulder 4 and the taper cut shoulder 5 of each lug 3.
