PURPOSE: To enhance the uniformity of shrinkage, by wrapping up both end sections of a ply around bead cores, overlapping both end parts together in the crown section to form a carcass, and as well by utilizing a cord fabric as the ply with a highly stretchable yarn being used in the selvage section of the ply.

CONSTITUTION: Both ends (b, c) f a carcass ply (a) which is wrapped up around bead cores (d), are overlapped together in the crown section (e) to form a carcass 2 so that a pneumatic tire 1 is formed. The ply (a) is made of a cored fabric, and a highly stretchable yarn is used in the selvage section 3 thereof. The same material as that of the warps of the cord fabric is preferably used for the highly stretchable yarn. Usually nylon 6, nylon 66, polyester fibers, etc. are used. With this arrangement, the rigidity of the joint section may be reduced, and therefore, the uniformity of a tire after vulcanization of a tire or after charging of internal pressure in a tire may be enhanced.
