Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire in which reduction of weight and rolling resistance are taken into consideration while enhancing durability at run-flat travel.SOLUTION: A length of an apex 38 amounts to 20 mm or less in this tire 2. A buffer layer 24 is situated between a carcass 12 and a clinch 8. An outside end 48 of the buffer layer 24 is situated radially inside of a maximum width position PW. In the radial direction, a position of an inside end 50 of the buffer layer 24 agrees with a position of an outside end 52 of a core 36, or the inside end 50 of the buffer layer 24 is situated outside the outside end 52 of the core 36. The buffer layer 50 is disposed so as to cover a contact part of the tire 2 with a rim R. The loss tangent Tk of the buffer layer 24 is equivalent to or less than the loss tangent Tc of the clinch 8 and the loss tangent Ta of the apex 38. A hardness Hk of the buffer layer 24 is equivalent to or less than a hardness Ha of the apex 38.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
