PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent block chipping even if a cap layer has insufficient thickness.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire has a base layer 11 disposed on the inner diameter side in tire radial direction, and a cap layer 12 disposed on the outer diameter side. On the cap layer 12 formed is a sipe 25. The interface between the base layer 11 and the cap layer 12 is positioned on the outer diameter side in tire radial direction beyond the bottom position of the sipe 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
