PURPOSE: To provide a vibrating pen, which can protect a work, a moving mechanism or the vibrating pen by absorbing shock through separation of the vibrating pen in a restorable manner even when the vibrating pen comes into collision with a stepped work.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of a work is engraved with a stylus 1A, which is vibrated by compressed air supplied to a vibrator 1. A holder 2 is bound to the vibrator 1 chargeably with compressed air. A holder 4, to which compressed air is charged, is connected hermetically sealably by a pulling means 3 to the holder 2. When the vibrator 1 or the holder 2 is applied with lateral load, the hermetically sealed state between the holders 2 and 4 is released, resulting in restorably separating the holder 2 from the holder 4.
