To provide a pointer type instrument which can supply stable power to a light source.

The pointer type instrument includes: an indicator 10; indication plates 21 and 22 having mark parts 21a and 22b and arranged in such a manner that the indicator 10 is visible; a drive device 60 disposed behind the indicator 10; and a pointer 70 connected with a pointer shaft 61 of the drive device 60 and rotating about the pointer shaft 61 as a rotation center to point to the mark parts 21a and 22b, wherein the pointer 70 includes a detouring part 71 and a pointing part 72 which points to the mark parts 21a and 22b. The pointer type instrument further includes: a coil 52 placed on the drive device 60 side; a light source 77 for causing the pointing part 72 to glow; and a flexible substrate 90 having a coiled wiring part 92 disposed between the indicator 10 and the detouring part 71, and a conductive wiring part 93 for conductively connecting the coiled wiring part 92 and the light source 77; wherein power is supplied to the light source 77 by an electromagnetic induction action between the coil 52 and the coiled wiring part 92 via the conductive wiring part 93.
