Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a polarization angle at a fixed magnification.SOLUTION: A polarimeter 1 uses a blazed diffraction grating having an approximate Littrow arrangement as a polarization angle expansion part 10. The Littrow arrangement is an arrangement in which incident light 100 has the same direction as diffracted light 200, and light having order enhancing the diffraction efficiency can be used as the diffracted light 200. The diffracted light 200 having a polarization angle of the incident light 100 expanded at a fixed magnification by the polarization angle expansion part 10 is formed and outputted, and the polarization angle of the diffracted light 200 is measured by a polarization angle detector 20.
