Abstract:
To simultaneously generate a plurality of polarization images of a subject without declining light intensity.SOLUTION: A polarization image capturing system comprises an imaging unit array in which a plurality of imaging units are arrayed two-dimensionally. The imaging unit includes one wavefront control element having a plurality of fine structures and a pixel array arranged to face the wavefront control element and containing a plurality of pixels, corresponding to the wavefront control element, arrayed two-dimensionally. Light from a subject is spatially divided into first polarization and second polarization having a direction orthogonal to the first polarization or a rotation direction reverse to the first polarization by the one wavefront control element so that the first polarization is collected to a first light collection position on the pixel array and the second polarization is collected to a second light collection position on the pixel array.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
