To resolve the problem wherein not all flexible pressure-sensitive body can be polarized and if the polarization is conducted normally in the polarization process cannot be confirmed, when small defects exists during impression of high voltage between a core electrode and an outer electrode and during polarizing.
A polarization system for a cable-like pressure sensor comprises a flexible pressure-sensitive body 12 set around a core electrode 11, a conductor 16 having a passage 15 of the flexible pressure-sensitive body 12, a direct voltage generating means 19 connected with the core electrode 11 and the conductor 16, a moving means 17 for moving the flexible pressure-sensitive body 12, a stress impressing means 20 for impressing physical stresses 1 in the flexible pressure-sensitive body 12 and an output detecting means 24 for detecting the output generated from the flexible pressure-sensitive body 12 during the operation of the stress impressing means 20. As a result of this, unavailability of polarization of all flexible pressure-sensitive body is prevented even with the existence of the defect. Also, whether or not the flexible pressure-sensitive body is normally polarized can be sensed, so that abnormality of the polarization system and of the flexible pressure-sensitive body can be sensed immediately, and productivity and reliability can be improved.
