To provide a polarized light irradiation device that can quickly adust an attachment angle of a polarizing element so that an oscillation direction of an ultraviolet ray passing through a plurality of respective polarizing elements falls within ±0.1° with respect to a reference direction.
A polarized light irradiation device 1 according to an embodiment comprises: a linear light source 11; a plurality of first polarizing elements 19; a movable part 13; a second polarizing element 14; light reception means 15; and a control device 20. The light source 11 irradiates an ultraviolet ray UA. The plurality of first polarizing elements 19 are arranged at different positions in a longitudinal direction. The movable part 13 changes respective attachment angles of the plurality of first polarizing elements 19. The second polarizing element 14 is irradiated with an ultraviolet ray UB passing through the first polarizing element 19. The light reception means 15 receives the ultraviolet ray passing through the polarizing elements 19 and 14. The control device 20 controls the movable part 13 so that an oscillation direction of the ultraviolet ray UB passing through each of the plurality of first polarizing elements 19 falls within ±0.1° with respect to a reference direction RD on the basis of intensity of the received ultraviolet ray.
