PURPOSE: To provide such a polarizing plate to be stuck on a liquid crystal cell that is excellent in both of moisture resistance and antidazzle property and has high adhesion property of an antidazzle layer without reduction of surface hardness.

CONSTITUTION: A polyethylene terephthalate film subjected to antidazzle treatment and a polarizing element 11 on which a moisture-resistant layer 12 is formed are prepared. Both are stuck to each other through an adhesive layer 13 to obtain a polarizing plate having improved moisture resistance and antidazzle property. The antidazzle treatment is performed by applying a coating material containing a matting agent, or shaping with a shaped film having fine recesses and projections, or forming a transparent nonreflecting coating film by vapor deposition.
