Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate that suppresses decrease in a polarization degree due to a displacement of an absorption axis of a polarizing film caused by dimensional changes of a stretched optical film when the polarizing plate is subjected to a heat resistance test.SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes, in the following order, a stretched optical film, a first protective film, a polarizing film, and an adhesive layer, in which an angle formed by an absorption axis of the polarizing film and a slow axis of the optical film is about 45° or about 135°. The first protective film has such properties that when the first protective film is left to stand in an environment at 85°C for 100 hours, a dimensional change rate D1 in a direction at an angle of 45° with respect to the absorption axis of the polarizing film and a dimensional change rate D2 in a direction at an angle of 135° with respect to the absorption axis of the polarizing film satisfy expression (1): 1≤|D1|/|D2|≤2 when |D1|≥|D2| and expression (2): 1<|D2|/|D1|≤2 when |D1|<|D2|.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
