To provide a polarizing plate capable of reducing the degree of difficulty in observing a display picture caused by the direction of a polarization axis even when the display image is observed through an optical member having a polarizing action such as a polarizing sunglass, and having higher endurance for usage environment, to provide a manufacturing method of the polarizing plate, and to provide a liquid crystal display device comprising the polarizing plate.
The polarizing plate has a /4 plate which contains a cellulose resin and has a hard coat layer on the surface, as a polarizing plate protection film on at least one side surface of a polarizer, wherein, assuming that the substitution degree of acetyl group of cellulose ester of the cellulose resin is X and the substitution degree of propionyl group of the same is Y, the cellulose resin is the cellulose ester which satisfies the following relations (1), (2): (1) 2.3X+Y2.8, (2) 0.0Y2.8.
