Abstract:

To provide a polarizing plate roll whose absorption axis is orthogonal to the flow direction of a polarizing plate.

The polarizing plate roll is formed by arranging a polarizer containing dichromatic dye in polyvinyl alcohol resin, on a base film formed of transparent resin selected from a group consisting of polypropylene resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene resin and polyvinyl chloride resin, through a primer layer. The polarizer has its absorption axis in an orthogonal direction of the flow direction of the roll. In the polarizing plate roll, the base film is oriented in a plane in an orthogonal direction to the flow direction of the roll, and n is 0.01. The polarizing plate roll is used to form a polarizing plate roll with a pressure sensitive adhesive layer, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device.
