To provide a polarizing plate sticking method in which a polarizing plate having a protective film formed can be stuck on a substrate without damaging nor staining the protective film.

The polarizing plate having the protective film formed is sucked through a suction plate fitted to a suction stage of a sticking head, which is moved to a panel support table where the substrate is disposed. The suction plate and substrate are held parallel to each other and the sticking head is moved so that the clearance between the suction plate and substrate becomes equal to the thickness of the polarizing plate. Then the polarizing plate is stopped from being sucked by the sticking head, and the suction stage is elevated to separate the suction plate from the polarizing plate. Then the suction head is moved to press the polarizing plate to the substrate 41 in order from an end by a sticking roller provided atop of the suction head.
