Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate with optical compensation layers, which offers superior reflection hue, view angle characteristics, and mechanical strength.SOLUTION: A polarizing plate with optical compensation layers according to the present invention is used for organic EL panels, and comprises a polarizer, an optically anisotropic layer, a first optical compensation layer, and a second optical compensation layer arranged in the described order. The optically anisotropic layer exhibits a refractive index property expressed as nx≥ny>nz, and has Re(550) of 0-20 nm and Rth(550) that is greater than 10 nm and no greater than 100 nm. The first optical compensation layer exhibits a refractive index property expressed as nx>ny≥nz, and satisfies a relationship expressed as Re(450)nx≥ny. A stack of the first optical compensation layer and the second optical compensation layer has Re(550) in a range of 120-160 nm and Rth(550) in a range of -50-80 nm. The first optical compensation layer has Re(550) in a range of 80-200 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
