PURPOSE: To reduce the occurrence of a durability failure phenomenon caused by a polarizing plate of a liquid crystal module by sticking the polarizing plate to a liquid crystal cell by a layer of a specific pressure sensitive adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: A layer of a pressure sensitive adhesive whose reducing rate of a relaxing elastic modulus at 25°C is (- 0.14 to -0.09), is arranged at least on one surface of a polarizing plate. An elliptic polarizing plate stuck to a phase difference plate by the layer of the pressure sensitive adhesive can be formed. A kind of this pressure sensitive adhesive is not particularly limited, and for example, a pressure sensitive adhesive composed of an acrylic polymer obtained by polymerizing acrylic acid (n)-butyl ester and acrylic acid and polyisocyanate is cited, and can be obtained by properly selecting composition, a fractional condition or the like. In a method to arrange the pressure sensitive adhesive layer on a surface of the polarizing plate, for example, a coater can be used. As for a kind of the phase difference plate, a normally using phase difference plate composed of thermoplastic resin excellent in transparency can be used. Thereby, a durability failure phenomenon is not caused at a high temperature in high humidity.
