Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the polarizing screen with which bright videos are obtainable in a relatively bright environment and the video device using this screen.
CONSTITUTION: The viewer side surface of a screen base 12 of the polarizing screen 3 which receives projecting light 5 having a 1st polarization direction and projects the videos is covered with polarizing fibers which allow the transmission of light having a 1st polarization direction D1 and absorbs the light having a 2nd polarization direction D2. The polarizing screen 3 which does not degrade the contrast of the image by external light is obtd. by using the polarizing fibers 1 which allow the transmission of the projecting light 5 having the specific polarization direction from a projector. The degradation in the contrast of the polarizing screen 3 is additionally effectively prevented when the polarizing members in which many polarizing fibers 1 are arranged is installed to face the window and the 2nd polarization direction D is added to illuminating light 10.
