Abstract:
To provide a good polishing performance irrespective of skill or proficiency of an operator so as to improve outer diameter dimensional accuracy, polishing surface uniformity, and manufacturing efficiency.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a polished article in which a polished article is pressed by a grindstone while rotating around a shaft, and the grindstone and the polished article are relatively moved in the direction parallel to the shaft of the polished product, and are relatively moved in the direction that the distance between the grindstone and the shaft of the polished article becomes smaller, so as to polish an outer peripheral surface of the polished article, and at the time of polishing, a work rest is pressed against the polished article from the opposite side of the grindstone across the polished article so that it faces the pressing direction of the grindstone so as to give a pressing force to the polished article and support the polished product, the work rest is prepared so as to be able to proceed toward the polished article, a pressing force detector detects the strength of the pressing force, and the work rest advances toward the polished article so that the pressing force becomes constant, thereby achieving the polishing. Instead of controlling to keep the pressing force constant, the control may be performed to advance the work rest by the amount of polishing (the amount of decrease in the outer diameter of the polished product).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
