Title:
POLISHING AGENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP57144542
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polishing agent particularly suited for cleaning and polishing of the surface of electrophotographic receptors by adding a specific amt. of ricinoleate to solid abrasive particles thereby preparing the polishing agent.

CONSTITUTION: A polishing agent wherein 100pts.wt. solid abrasive particles of CeO2, etc. (particularly preferably fine particles of about 0.5W1.0μ grain sizes), and 1W2pts.wt. fatty acid ester such as ricinoleate (castor oil) are dispersed in 190pts.wt. a volatile solvent such as normal heptane is prepd. When the surfaces of electrophotographic receptors are cleaned and polished by using such oplishing agent, the characteristics and images nearly equal to initial ones are obtained. Of course, this is usable for cleaning and specular finishing of glass, plastic semiconductors, insulators, etc. Even when left standing for a long time, it does not cause settling and condensation of the abrasive particles hence difficulty in their dispersion.
