Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing apparatus which can cope with other works than the polishing of the cylindrical outer surface of the thread part of a bolt or the like, leads to a reduction in cost and an improvement in quality, and is safe enough to allow no dispersion of dust, contaminant, or foreign matters.SOLUTION: This polishing apparatus has a structure where a component to be polished 2 is attached to a socket 3 attached to the rotary shaft of a drive unit, makes a drive frame 9 move the socket into a polishing work box 1, makes a polishing base frame 8 move a polishing base 6 loaded with a brush-like polishing material 5 into the polishing work box under no rotation to bring the polishing material in contact with the component to be polished at a radial position to start the polishing work of the component to be polished upon the start of the drive unit, makes a feed frame 8 move the polishing base and a polishing frame 7 to displace the polishing material to an arbitrary axial position of the component to be polished present in the polishing work box, and to perform the polishing work of a polishing component at a polishing work object part of the component to be polished in the polishing work box, thereby recovering and isolating foreign matters removed from the component to be polished in a dust collection box 4 coupled with the polishing work box.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
