Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically polish both sides of a work without assistance of human hands, by slidably providing chuck devices at a face-to-face position on the center line of a machine bed and replacing the work from one side to the other.

CONSTITUTION: Air suction chucks 4, 4' are slidably supported at a face-to-face position axially to machine frames 3, 3', and an abrasive machine 9 is longitudinally movably provided to the outside of the center line of the chucks 4, 4'. When abrasive work is performed, a work 8 is firstly sucked and supported to the right hand chuck 4 by operating a blower 7, and one side of the work 8 is polished. And then the abrasive machine 9 is moved backward, and the chucks 4, 4' are slidably approximated, then a blower 7' is operated to suck the work 8 and replace it to the left hand chuck 4', further another work 8 is sucked again to the right hand chuck 4, in this way, the other side of the former work and one side of the new work are simltaneously polished.
