Abstract:

To provide a polyamic acid giving an aromatic polyimide having a high refractive index and a low birefringence simultaneously in addition to physical properties which the polyimide has originally, such as excellent heat resistance, etc.

This polyamic acid consists of a recurring unit expressed by general formula (I) (wherein, R is a divalent organic group) and has 1,000-100,000 range number-average molecular weight. The polyimide is obtained by imidizing the polyamic acid. The film consists of the polyimide. The light wave-guide is equipped with a wave-guiding layer consisting of the polyimide.
