Abstract:

To control the contact activation of platelet that contacts the surface of polyamide and prevent the coagulation of blood by stretching a polyamide to improve the degree of orientation.

A polyamide with a surface compatible with blood is obtained by reducing the capability of absorbing fibrinogen, etc., on the surface and, as the result, controlling and avoiding the activation of platelet that contacts the surface. For this purpose, a means is selected from among following: (a) a polyamide is stretched to give a surface on which the absorption of blood protein and the activation of platelet are controlled; (b) a crystalline polyamide is used; (c) a polyamide is provided with a microstructure wherein the state of distribution of a crystalline region and a noncrystalline region is controlled; (d) a polyamide is stretched to a degree of stretching of 120-1,000% so that the degree of orientation of fine crystals of the whole material is at least 50%; (e) a material is used of which the degree of crystallization as a whole or near the surface is 35-70% and of which the long cycle as the thickness of repeated crystalline and noncrystalline regions is 8-20nm; and (f) an aliphatic or aromatic polyamide is used.
