To obtain a low-viscosity liq. polyamine cross-linker formulation which contains a specific triamine compd. as the main component and contains functional groups in a high content by hydrolyzing a specific tolylene diisocyanate trimer.
A tolylene diisocyanate trimer represented by formula I (wherein R4, R5, and R6 are each 2-methyl-3-isocyanatophenyl or 3-isocyanato-4- methylphenyl) is hydrolyzed. A solvent (e.g. a ketone or ester) is added to the resultant hydrolyzate to adjust the solid content. Thus a liq. polyamine cross- linker formulation is obtd. which contains 40-80wt.% (based on the total solid content triamine represented by formula II (wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each 2-methyl-3-aminophenyl or 3-amino-4-methylphenyl) having a degree of condensation (in terms of the number of isocyanurate nuclei) of 1, which contains 1wt.% or lower tolylenediamine represented by formula III (wherein x means the 2- or 4-position to the methyl group), of which the rest of solids is a condensate having a high degree of condensation, and of which the total solid content is 35-50% of the total wt.
