NEW MATERIAL: Agents for treating neoplastic diseases containing the compd. of formula 1 [(m) is 6 to 9; Z is a saturated (2-6C) alkylene; R is H, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl with the provisos that both R can not be H when Z is a straight chain] and an acid addition salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: N.N'-bis-(3-(methylamino)propyl)-1,8-octandiamine.
USE: It is useful as antineoplastic agents.
PREPARATION: In accordance with the reaction formula, cyano-derivatives of formula 2 is reacted with hydrogen in a suitable solven in the presence of a suitable catalyst to obtain a compd. of formula 3. Next, this is neutralized with a base in accordance with the well-known conditions to obtain tetra N- protecting amine. Then, this is alkylated, and, for example, the N-protecting group is removed to obtain a compd. of formula 6.
