To provide a composition which decomposes in biological bodies and is biocompatible.

The biocompatible composition comprises polyanionic polysaccharides bonded to a hydrophobic bioabsorbable polymer. Also, polyanionic polysaccharides are present in the water-insoluble derivative form in the composition.
