PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyarylene sulfide composition that exhibits, in particular, a combination of heat resistance characteristics and impact resistance characteristics to thereby provide a product suitable for use in a variety of applications.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the polyarylene sulfide composition is provided that is formed by melt processing polyarylene sulfide, a silane coupling agent and a silicone elastomer, wherein the silane coupling agent is preferably an amino silane coupling agent and the silicone elastomer is preferably poly(dimethylsiloxane). In another embodiment, the polyarylene sulfide composition is provided in which the polyarylene sulfide is polyphenylene sulfide or reactively functionalized polyarylene sulfide. In further another embodiment, the polyarylene sulfide composition is provided that exhibits a tensile elastic modulus of approximately 3,000 MPa or more as measured according to ISO test No. 527 and meets the V-0 flammability standard at a thickness of 0.2 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
