Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a polyarylene sulfide resin composition which does not suffer from staining of a molding surface and deposition on the surface of a mold when molded and is improved in flow without detriment to the mechanical properties of the molding made therefrom by using a polyarylene sulfide resin containing a petroleum resin as the principal component.
CONSTITUTION: This resin composition comprises a principal component comprising 100 pts.wt. polyarylene sulfide resin (A) [a polymer containing 70wt.% or above repeating units represented by the structural formula: Ar-S (wherein Ar is arylene)] and 0.05-10 pts.wt. petroleum resin (B) and optionally 5-70 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. sum of components A, B and filler (C). This composition does not suffer from staining of a molding surface and deposition on the surface of a mold when molded, is improved in flow without detriment to the mechanical properties of the molding made therefrom and further improved in impact strength as well as mechanical strengths (tensile strength and bending strength).
