Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization system, a polymerization method and a composition of a polycarbonate polyol and to provide a polyurethane composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a polymerization system for copolymerization of COand an epoxide which is a polymerization system containing 1) a catalyst including a metal coordination compound having a permanent ligand set and at least one ligand which is a polymerization initiator and 2) a chain transfer agent having two or more sites which can initiate polymerization and a method for synthesizing a polycarbonate polyol, wherein the polymerization system includes polycarbonate polyol compositions having a high percentage of an -OH terminal group and a high percentage of a carbonate bond and the compositions contain polymer chains having an embedded polyfunctional moiety linked to a plurality of individual polycarbonate chains.
