Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin having a proper balance of excellent various properties such as optical physical property, heat resistance, mechanical physical property and heat stability, and to provide an optical film and a retardation film each obtained by using the resin.SOLUTION: There is provided the polycondensation-type resin which has a repeating structure unit including an aromatic structure and in which the content of the aromatic structure in the repeating structure unit satisfies following formula (I). 5≤A≤-22.5×B+38.3 (I), provided that 0.75≤B≤0.93, where A: the content of the aromatic structure in the repeating structure unit constituting the resin [mass%] and B:a ratio (R450/550) between retardation at 450 nm (R450) and retardation at 550 nm (R550).
