Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title copolymer useful as a medical material to which adaptability with living things is required by reacting an alkali metal salt of a specific polydiorganosiloxane with a pyrrolidinium ring ended polyether and then subjecting a pyrrolidinium base to ring opening by heating, etc. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal salt of carboxyalkyl-ended polydiorganosiloxane expressed by formula I [R is 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; R<1> is monovalent hydrocarbon or formula II (a is 3-6; q is 10-2000; t is 0 or 1; M is H or alkali metal); p is same as q] is subjected to coupling reaction with a pyrrolidinium ring-ended polyether expressed by formula III (R<2> is 2-6C alkylene; S is 10-200 ; X is negative group[ and the resultant product is separated, dried and subjected to ring opening reaction by heating to provide the aimed copolymer expressed by formula TV or formula V (n is 1-30).
